Dr. Rahul Rajkumar, MD, JD, FACP, is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of Accompany Health, a primary, behavioral, and social care provider that provides high-quality care for low-income patients with complex needs. He has dedicated his career to underserved patients.
Prior to his role at Accompany Health, he served as Chief Operating Officer of Optum Care Solutions, part of OptumHealth, serving 99 million individuals across the United States. Dr. Rajkumar previously was Senior Vice President and Chief Medical Officer at CareFirst Blue Cross BlueShield and then at Blue Cross North Carolina, where he led network strategy, quality, pharmacy, and clinical operations. Before CareFirst, Rahul was the Deputy Director at the Center for Medicare and Medicaid Innovation, spearheaded the development of pioneering programs to promote Accountable Care Organizations, bolster primary care, implement bundled payments, and increase patient safety.
Dr. Rajkumar earned his MD from Yale University School of Medicine, and his JD from Yale Law School. He completed his residency at Harvard Medical School/Brigham and Women鈥檚 Hospital and is board-certified in Internal Medicine.
